PORTLAND, OREGON, 9 April 2009 – Long time Principals Cameron Hyde, Dan Danielson and Henry Fitzgibbon say that their original goal from years ago was to change the world one building at a time. Soderstrom Architects was founded in 1984. During our 25 years in business were given the opportunity to practice our skills on a wide variety of project.
Soderstrom Architects has been at the forefront of energy efficient design since the inception of the firm. In fact, the award winning Sunridge Middle School in Pendleton is still the largest solar trombe wall building west of the Mississippi. Soderstrom Architects has seven LEED AP employees, and has a commitment to have all licensed Architects LEED accredited by 2010. We currently have 14 LEED projects either in construction or design phases which range from LEED Silver to LEED Platinum. The University of Portland's Shiley Hall engineering building is designed to achieve LEED Platinum and Jesuit High School's Center for Science and Mathematics is scheduled to be LEED Gold.
Soderstrom Architects has worked on some notable projects such as: Swindells and Shiley Hall - Interactive Laboratory Buildings at the University of Portland; Wood Hall - Northwestern College of Law, Lewis and Clark College; Harrison Hall, Portland State University; Loso Hall - Creative & Performing Arts Center, Eastern Oregon University; Net-Zero Energy Student Housing, Oregon Institute of Technology; Oregon City High School, Oregon City School District; Bush Elementary School, Salem-Keizer Public Schools; Central Catholic High School; Central Peninsula General Hospital Expansion; OHSU 30-Year Campus Master Plan, Oregon Health Sciences University; Oregon Sports Medicine Associates; McArthur Court Roof Replacement and Exterior Restoration, University of Oregon; Deady Hall, University of Oregon; Oregon Research Institute Headquarters; and Pioneer Courthouse Square Lobby & New KGW Studio in the Square, Pioneer Courthouse Square.
Soderstrom Architects maintains long standing relationships with all of our clients. We are currently working on the University of Oregon's campus and have been since our inception in 1984. Other long term clients include The University of Portland for 20 years, Oregon City School District for 21 years, Salem-Keizer School District for the past 11 years, and continuing projects at Pioneer Courthouse Square including Portland Visitor Information Center and the recently completed KGW Studio on the Square.
Soderstrom Architects offers comprehensive architectural services ranging from programming and design to construction administration. In addition, we offer master planning, feasibility studies, due diligence studies, exterior building restoration, historic restoration, space planning, and interior design expertise. Soderstrom Architects serves clients throughout the country with 30 employees including architects licensed in 17 states.
